How Hypnotherapy Works

Hypnotherapy is a state of focused concentration and heightened suggestibility, increasing the ability to access and change subconscious thoughts and beliefs. It is often used as a therapeutic tool to help people improve and overcome a variety of psychological problems. It is thought that hypnosis works by:-

  • Increasing the activity of the thalamus, a part of the brain that is involved in attention and processing of sensory information.
  • Decreasing the activity of the amygdala, a part of the brain that is involved in fear and anxiety.
  • Increasing the production of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers.

Rapid Transformational Therapy

Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) is a form of hypnotherapy that is designed to help people make rapid and lasting changes in their lives. Unlike standard hypnotherapy, RTT is an holistic treatment that identifies the root cause of the issue, reframes this and then helps to establish a new mindset. The use of hypnosis aids this process because the root cause of a problem is more easily accessed, and the subconscious mind is open to creating new pathways. RTT has been shown to be effective in a variety of areas, including: -

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Low self-esteem
  • Weight loss
  • Smoking cessation
  • Phobias
  • Pain management
  • Performance improvement
  • Relationship problems

An additional benefit of RTT is that usually only one treatment is needed to make a significant difference.
