Darkness Into Light: Finding Your Way Back from the Shadows
On the 9th of May 2026, thousands of people across Ireland will rise before dawn to walk from the darkness of night into the light of a new morning. While this event is a vital fundraiser for suicide prevention, it also serves as a profound metaphor for the journey many of us take within ourselves.
Moving Beyond the "Darkness"
In my work as a therapist, I often meet clients who feel as though they are stuck in a persistent "night" of the soul. This state of mind is frequently driven by what I refer to as "mistaken ideas" or "faulty programming", subconscious beliefs that tell us we are trapped, unworthy, or that things will never change.
Just as the walk requires taking that first step in the dark, healing begins with the decision to move forward, even when the destination is not yet visible.
How RTT and NLP Guide the Way
To move from darkness into light, we often need more than just willpower. We need tools that can reach the root cause of our internal shadows.
- RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy): This approach acts as a powerful torch, allowing us to go back and understand the origin of the "dark" beliefs we carry. By addressing these root causes, we can rapidly reprogramme the mind for hope and freedom.
- NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming): NLP helps us reorganise the internal language we use to describe our struggles. By reframing our thoughts, we change our internal representation of the world, making it easier to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
